Ireland can beat the West Indies when they play on March 23 in the ICC World Cup. No, seriously they can! They can, because they've done it before, chasing down 293 to beat the West Indies in 2004 and famously bowling out the West Indies for 25 in 1969. Twenty-five!

Granted it wasn't a first string West Indies team, but that scorecard sure is shocking.

Maybe even more shocking is when Ireland chased down 293 to win only three years ago against Dwayne Bravo, Ian Bradshaw, Jermaine Lawson, Ravi Rampaul and Chris Gayle. In fact, chasing 293 to win, Ireland made 295 for the loss of only 4 wickets with 19 deliveries to spare. Nine of those players who defeated the West Indies in 2004 are in Ireland's 15 man squad at this World Cup, so they will have the confidence of having personally defeated the West Indies before.

This Irish team is talented and dangerous. They gave South Africa a run for their money in their warm up match. If the West Indies are not careful, these Irish lads will knock them over a la Kenya in 1996.
