India Blows away Windies

In the fourth and final ODI on Wednesday in Vadodara, India fired on all cylinders and dominated the West Indies in winning by 160 runs. It was the kind of match where everything went right for India, while conversely, everything went horribly wrong for the West Indies.  read more »

Samuels, Lara and Bravo star in Windies win.

West Indies defeated India today by three wickets in Chennai to keep alive its hopes of salvaging a series draw. Both teams entered the third match of the four game series having made several changes to their starting elevens. Sourav Ganguly, Zaheer Khan, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh and Joginder Sharma made way for Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Anil Kumble and Sreesanth. West Indies saw the return of captain Brian Lara and was joined by Lendl Simmons and debutant Rayad Emrit. Dwayne Smith, Ian Bradshaw and Shivnarine Chanderpaul were all rested. The moves were aimed at giving other players a chance at proving their mettle before the Cricket World Cup in March.  read more »

WI lose again

West Indies wasted a good fielding performance while managing to lose again to India, this time by 20 runs, in another close ODI yesterday. Batting first, the Indians were restricted to 189 all out in 48.2 overs. However, the Windies could not overhaul that total as a combination of tight bowling, senseless strokeplay and careless run outs precipitated their demise.  read more »

Chanderpaul Blitz Not Enough

India scored a 14 run win in the initial contest of their 4 match series against West Indies in Nagpur on Sunday. Set 339 to win after the Indians scored at will from their 50 overs, West Indies were led by a sublime and unbeaten 149 from opener Shivnarine Chanderpaul. His second highest one-day score left his team 14 runs short of their target after the last ball was bowled.  read more »
