New Zealand Continue to Impress

In St. Lucia today, New Zealand continued their impressive march through Group C at the 2007 World Cup. They completed a sweep of their three group matches by dispatching Canada by 114 runs. Both teams recorded their highest ever total at a World Cup, but Lou Vincent's century and Brendon McCallum's fastest ever World Cup 50 (off 20 balls) were too much for the Canadians.Read more

Naughty Freddie

Today England defeated a stubborn Canadian squad without the services of allrounder Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff. Flintoff had been suspended for the match reportedly after hotel workers had to fetch him from floating on a pedalo at 4 am Saturday morning after a night of drinking. In addition, he has also been sacked as vice captain of the team. In St Kitts, there was another 200+ run defeat for Holland, the 4th such defeat for a minnow at this tournament.Read more

Aussie Rout!

In St. Kitts, Ricky Ponting's Australia fired a clear warning shot today, unmercilessly destroying Scotland.

That Australia would beat Scotland was clear. It was also evident that they would win by a wide margin. That they won by such a margin was impressive, considering that the Scottish bowling had done a reasonable job for the first 45 overs of the match. A flurry of runs at the end and a dominant bowling performance led to the huge margin of 203 runs.Read more
