In St. Lucia today, New Zealand continued their impressive march through Group C at the 2007 World Cup. They completed a sweep of their three group matches by dispatching Canada by 114 runs. Today England defeated a stubborn Canadian squad without the services of allrounder Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff. Flintoff had been suspended for the match reportedly after hotel workers had to fetch him from floating on a pedalo at 4 am Saturday morning after a night of drinking. In St. Kitts, Ricky Ponting's Australia fired a clear warning shot today, unmercilessly destroying Scotland.
That Australia would beat Scotland was clear. It was also evident that they would win by a wide margin. That they won by such a margin was impressive, considering that the Scottish bowling had done a reasonable job for the first 45 overs of the match.
